Body Health

weightloss_bigWeight loss is not as simple as just exercise otherwise there would be a whole lot more people walking around with a flat tummy or a six pack.

It requires a balanced nutrition plan, regular exercise and several other lifestyle factors including adequate sleep and rest. Without this holistic approach you might spend lots of wasted hours in the gym.

There are six foundational principles of health, they are:

  1. Thoughts
  2. Breathing
  3. Water
  4. Nutrition
  5. Movement
  6. Sleep & Rest

Compliance with these principles 80% of the time will lead you straight to your goal of improved health and energy. It really is a simple equation.

If  restricted movement (caused by pain) prevents you from achieving improved health, pain reduction in the body (back, shoulder, neck, knee and more) may require a holistic approach from postural analysis, exercise coaching and sometimes nutrition and lifestyle counseling.

If you take a good hard look at your life and health balance, you may find areas where even subtle changes can improve your health.  Examine each of the principles and how it applies to you.  For example, are you getting enough sleep at night?  How often do you exercise?  What type of exercise are you doing and how can you ‘step’ it up to the next level?  How’s your nutrition? Are you drinking enough water?  Are you stressed out?  Are you an optimist or pessimist? If you are an optimist you most likely have a natural ability to motivate yourself and others.  If you are a pessimist, you may find yourself depressed and isolated.

Start making small changes today towards your goal — a step at a time.  Start by walking.  Walking will give you mental clarity and improve body system functions and performance.  It can be a social experience or simply a great time to get away and ‘think’.
